In
1920, Kohler expanded its product line to include generators,
the first being the Kohler Automatic Power & Light. This early
"electric plant" or generator supplied power for lights,
equipment and for pumping water. Unlike other systems of the time,
the Kohler Automatic Power & Light did not require massive
banks of storage batteries. It used a compact automobile-sized
engine. The four-cycle, four-cylinder, water-cooled engine ran
smoothly and quietly, supplying twice as much power as other systems
on the market.
Today
the Kohler industrial & marine generator products, range from
2.5 to 2000 kW and includes components such as controls, transfer
switches, switchgear, uninterruptible power, micro turbines and
anything else our customers require for emergency, standby and
prime power system solutions.
